These marble-looking sculptures that look like they’re from Ancient Greece are actually completely malleable, deformable, slinky-like art pieces. You see, the sculptures are made from thousands of sheets of paper to appear solid when still. When you tug at the sculpture though, you can stretch it out however you like.
It’s the work of Chinese artist Li Hongbo and Design Taxi says he currently has an exhibition called “Tools of Study” showing at the Klein Sun Gallery in New York. It’s pretty fantastic work, from a distance (and even up close) you can’t even tell that the sculptures were made from paper. And then when you pull at it, the paper seems endless. Look at it:
